Egyptian Fragmentary Bronze Throne of Harpocrates, Late Period 730 - 716 BCE. Dual lions as legs of throne. In excellent condition. 3" x 2 1/2" x 4". On custom stand height if 4". Ex: Sotheby's New York. Harpocrates was the god of silence, secrets and confidentiality in the Hellenistic religion developed in Ptolemaic Alexandria (and also an embodiment of hope, according to Plutarch). Harpocrates was adapted by the Greeks from the Egyptian child god Horus.
