Gorgeous color! Ancient Egyptian Ushabti / Shabti dating to the 26th Dynasty, ca. 664 to 525 B.C. Tall mummiform servant of the dead in medium-blue faience, hands held to chest holding crook and flail, wearing royal beard, pillar up reverse side which helps us date this to the 26th Dynasty, and faint traces of glyphic text on the lower front which, due to a very worn mold, all but invisible. This is a wonderful example. Dating to the XXXth Dynasty in Egyptian history, circa 380 - 343 BC. Standing with typical farming implements (pick and hoe) and seed sack slung over his left shoulder, inscribed with T-Band of hieroglyphic reading The Illuminated, The Osiris, Scribe, Men-Nef-?, Born of Men-nf-Thot-?, Justified.Measures 108 mm tall.
