This Mesa Verde ladle is possibly the finest know example extant. It measures 11.25” long and 5.2” wide at the bowl and has a beautiful slip and a killer design in perfect paint on the interior of the bowl. The handle is a rattle handle and has many holes running from the bowl to the end; the slip shows some minor crackling where the handle meets the bowl. What is amazing is the exterior of the bowl has a wonderful design that is virtually never seen on Anasazi ladles. This is an example for... Click for details

This Pinedale black and white olla, measuring 9”+, has two wonderful images of mountain lions on the rim, something virtually never seen during this period of prehistoric pottery production. The olla is broken and glued with about 8% restoration, a tiny bit affecting only a portion of the tail of one mountain lion. I rarely will handle an item with restoration unless it has significant rarity…, which this one does. This is a nice example for the collector that collects life forms or the out-o... Black and white ollas of size (in excess of 12”) are not uncommon unless in whole condition. Black and red ollas of this size are virtually unheard of in any condition; they are at least 1000 times rarer than their black and white counterparts. This WHOLE example measures in excess of 13” in diameter and exhibits a very nice design throug... Click for details

This is a beautiful and striking Four Mile Polychrome bowl assembled from just three pieces; a small chip on the rim. The bowl measures 9.25” in diameter and 3.25” deep and exhibits very strong bold paint that is ALL original. There is no restoration of any type. The image is intriguing as that of an abstract animal with four obvious legs and feet. This bowl sold in the 1980s to a prominent Aspen Colorado collector for $7,500.00…. I recently purchased this as part of a small group of items... Click for details

$7500.00

This impressive, 10 ½" tall, 14 Ό" wide Tularosa Black-on-White olla (GL655) was found at the Horsecamp Ruin near Quemado, New Mexico. Attributed to the Anasazi group, and dating c.1100-1250AD, it is from the collection of the late Gene Lang of Denver. Approximately 15% of this large olla has been restored (much in the unpainted base). Originally from the Hatley collection, the pot has been in Denver for decades. The black and white photo does not show the 30%+ area of red-brown blush that occur... Click for details
