We recently acquired several beautiful intact olla from a private collection which was formed between 1985 and 1996. This nice example measures 13.5 inches wide and 11.5 inches inches and has no restoration of any kind. The shape is exceptional and the design elements varied and quite interesting. The paint on one side has some small white dots in it due to what was probably a mineral deposit that was cleaned off. This group of six stone artifacts (PJH1-6) is being sold as a lot. From the international collection of Dr. Peter Hilton, the selection represents a variety of stone and type. From the early days of Peter’s collecting, he did not at that time keep detailed records concerning provenance or type of each of the pieces.
