Ancient Nazca Textile Camelid, Wool Tunic, Peru circa 100 - 700 CE. With zoomorphic motif and dangling tassle. In excellent condition. 33" H x 25 1/2" W. The Nazca are also known for their technically complex textiles. The textiles were most likely woven by women at habitation sites from spun cotton and wool. Chimu Zoomorphic Textile Fragment, Peru ca. 1000 - 1250 CE. Chimu hand woven textile with six panels composed of stylized creatures. Fabric colors vary in hues of gold, red, green, and cream. Fraying on parts of fabric due to age, but in overall good condition. Ex: C. Lopez Torres collection, Miami. The Chimu people (900-1450 CE) of Peru produced distinctive blackware pottery.
