From the Guanacaste / Nicoya region of Costa Rica, dating between 100-500 A.D. Made from a white jadeite-stone, axe god with string cut and drilled features, pierced four times in the head for suspension. 4-3/8"H x 7/8"W, intact/choice condition, with overall caliche (nitrate salt) deposits creating interesting surface effects.

From the central/south coast of ancient Peru, ca. 600 - 900 A.D. Including a multi-color, finely-woven example having an overall abstract anthropomorphic and zoomorphic decoration (missing string tassels and ends). 16"L x 2-3/8"W, wear along edges plus a few small holes, but still a very nice example. Together with another band decorated very similarly, with string tassels at each end. 17"L (not including strings), all there, but appears to have been washed which accounts for its faded color... This is a fantastic piece. This necklace is re-composed from all-ancient Pre-Columbian Moche jade beads dating to between 200 AD and 400 AD.

Re-strung on nylon-coated stainless steel flex-wire with a hallmarked 18K GOLD lobster claw-type clasp.
