Wheel-thrown pottery pouring vessel with bulbous base, thin neck and applied strap handle, button-shaped spout. Deep-red pottery, now with nice areas of surface deposits. 5"H, intact/excellent condition, save one slight firing mark.
Ancient Roman Redware Plate, ca 300 to 400 A.D., from the Roman pottery center of Carthage, North Africa. A very fine and large flat pottery platter with small raised rim, band of incised circles for decoration, reverse left completely reserved. 13"D x 3/4"H, area of rim (approx 2") broken/reglued, surface a bit weathered; reverse covered in caliche deposits, but still a very showy example that displays wonderfully! ... Large, colorful and delicate! Ancient Roman Glass Pouring Vessel, ca. 2nd to 3rd centuries A.D. Almost amber-colored glass jug with large bulbous base, long thin neck, thin applied handle and trefoil spout; areas of lovely iridescence throughout. 6-1/2"H, intact/excellent condition.
This superb piece is a late Roman storage amphora that dates circa 4th-5th century A.D. This piece is approximately 5 inches high and it is in mint condition, with no repair and/or restoration. This piece is made from a light tan terracotta and was coil made on a potter's wheel. There is also a lid that was form fitted to the top of the vessel when the clay was wet. Beautiful and wearable! Necklace made from over 90 individual ancient stone beads found in a Roman site in southern Germany, ca 200 to 350 A.D. Ancient carnelian beads mostly in rounded form with approximately 10 longer varieties interspersed with ancient blue lapis beads; all strung on modern wire with modern silver clasp.
