Another well constructed mouldmade ancient Roman oil lamp. Made of red clay and slip or 'red slip" these lamps were mostly produced in North Africa (most likely Tunisia) during the 4th century. This style was very popular and produced throughout the Mediterranean. A well preserved oil lamp with a theater mask on the right side and person in profile on the left. A nice Roman bronze spoon for the preparation or application of medicines and/or cosmetics. The spoon was excavated in Israel and is dated 1st or 2nd century AD, the Roman Period. The article measures 4.55 cm and is covered with a pleasant green patina and a slight dirt encrustation. The spoon is in excellent condition.

Here you find a lovely mouldmade ancient Roman oil lamp. Made of red clay and slip or 'red slip" these lamps were mostly produced in North Africa (most likely Tunisia) during the 4th century.
