| Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this excellent ancient Roman bronze medical instrument. This comes from the time of the Roman Empire, a very important period in the history of the world. This is from the period, ca. 1st - 2nd Century A. D. and features absolutely choice bronze burial patina. Absolutely even patina with lovely features. This is a very nice instrument that was used to perform various medical tasks. The still strong instrument had the ability to reach into a wound or around a wound and hold the suture or move whatever was needed in the surgical process. This was a very versatile instrument that is extremely large in size. The tremendous ancient burial patina on this piece can be cleaned if desired to reveal the bright bronze which still lies beneath. This piece remains unrestored and can be cleaned and returned to its original glory. It is in such excellent condition that it looks much as it did 2,000 years ago! A definite conversation group and the perfect condition to any medical instrument grouping. 5.75" in length. | ||
