| Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this outstanding Egyptian cartonnage fragment. This artifact originally covered the chest of the mummy and depicts the winged goddess Ma'at in excellent detail. The depiction of Ma'at and the pleasing of other gods, such as Horus, Osiris, and Anubis, was crucial in the weighing of the heart ceremony that decided the fate of the deceased. The colors are brilliant in green, brown, red, black, etc. The piece measures a significant 12" long and 9.5" tall. Egypt. Late Period. 664 - 200 B.C. | ||
