A magnificent Western Asiatic bronze openwork very large hairpin. Decorated with very fine openwork style, large comb shaped head with neat openwork pattern. Three prong’s missing, broken in antiquity, otherwise intact with no restoration and in as found condition. Dating to circa 1000 BC. Measures 24cm height, 8cm diameter of head / 25.5cm height on display stand. Ex-private West Australian collection. Numerous similar hairpins constructed from metals other than bronze have recently appeared on the market, as you can see by the photos our bronze pins are the genuine type. |
