Ancient Roman Redware Plate, ca 300 to 400 A.D., from the Roman pottery center of Carthage, North Africa. A very fine and large flat pottery platter with small raised rim, band of incised circles for decoration, reverse left completely reserved. 13"D x 3/4"H, area of rim (approx 2") broken/reglued, surface a bit weathered; reverse covered in caliche deposits, but still a very showy example that displays wonderfully!
