Here you find a splendid Ancient Greek Red-Figured Lekythos from Southern Italy. This Lekythos dates to approximately 350 B.C. and depicts a small child playing with a ring in one hand and a strand of beads in the other (painted in a cream colour). On his feet we find a pair of white slippers. Very clear facial and body features, done in black highlights. Has a nice elegant spout and handle, standing on a wide foot. Around the shoulder we find the popular Ancient Apulian egg and dot motif and ray patter on the neck. This piece is absolutely intact and has a beautiful black patina. Very rare example.
