Here you find a very presentable Ancient Attic pottery lekythos done in black-figure technique showing a charioteer in biga. Vessel manufactured in Athens at the end of the 6th century BC. Aside from the repair at neck/spout and base of the vessel it remains in great condition and has much presence! The shoulder of this lekythos is painted with the classic tongue pattern motif and just below the Greek key motif. The figure, horses and chariot is painted in a shiny black glaze with incised detail. Good size for the type. Measures 4.9 inches high.
