MOULD FOR MAKING SHABTIS , USHABTI MOLD CIRCA NEW KINGDOM TO THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD Intact shabti mould in clay, measures 3.5 inches. Has hieroglyphic impression. Terracotta statues or shabtis could be mass produced using moulds such as this one, which allowed rapid production at low cost. Provenance: Collected by Gustave Jéquier (1868-1946)
