A wonderful Reserve black and white bird pitcher with excellent white slip, superb black paint and a little curly tail. The most prominent feature is the wide band handle with a truly stunning solid image of a black lizard. In addition the painted design has been implemented so as to clearly define the wings and breast. Virtually all prehistoric Native American effigy pieces are made to be canteens; a pitcher like this is highly unusual. This pitcher was unearthed in 1983 on the Hudson ranch which is just south of Reserve New Mexico. Completely intact measuring 8.5” x 6.5” x 7.8”, no restoration of any kind. A RELEASE AND DISCLOSURE, WITH PICTURE, IS PROVIDED STATING THE CONDITION, APPROXIMATE AGE AND THAT POSSESSING IT IS NOT IN VIOLATION OF ANY FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL LAWS. |
