The area which is now the east central part of Arizona saw the development of striking polychromes during the period of 1300 – 1400AD which included the types Showlow, Four Mile and Kinishba. It appears that Kinishba was produced in a very small area for only about 25 years and takes its name from the Kinishba ruin where it was first found. The slip is generally a peachy color with black and a characteristic blood red. This example is in perfect condition save a tiny chip on the rim – the paint bold and perfect. Very few examples are known and intact pieces are rare. Yes, it really is as pretty as the photograph. Perfect save a small chip on the rim, measures 7.8” x 3”. EX. Bill Freeman A RELEASE AND DISCLOSURE, WITH PICTURE, IS PROVIDED STATING THE CONDITION, APPROXIMATE AGE AND THAT POSSESSING IT IS NOT IN VIOLATION OF ANY FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL LAWS. |
