We recently acquired several beautiful intact olla from a private collection which was formed between 1985 and 1996. This nice example measures 13.5 inches wide and 11.5 inches inches and has no restoration of any kind. The shape is exceptional and the design elements varied and quite interesting. The paint on one side has some small white dots in it due to what was probably a mineral deposit that was cleaned off. It appears more pronounced in the photos than it is in real life; the fire cloud is not visible when displayed from the A side which is in the first picture. In the last four years nice examples have become very difficult to find. |
